Hi, I’m Michelle, a mom, educator, and parent coach dedicated to helping parents establish harmonious, joyful, and open relationships with their children.
I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I do have plenty of training and experience and love to share what I have learned.
I lead classes in both P.E.T., Parent Effectiveness Training and RIE®, Resources for Infant Educarers — approaches to parenting that have been life-changing for me.
Join one of my classes and you will find a warm, supportive, and casual atmosphere, lots of smiles, and respect for your values.
What you won’t find: judgment or lectures.
I consider myself more of a guide than a teacher, though I did begin my career as an elementary and middle-school teacher in California and New York.
As a school teacher, I worked hard to connect with my students as individuals and to adjust my lessons to their varied learning styles, in hopes they would feel understood and seen. This was no small challenge in classrooms with over 30 students! During my teaching years, I also valued my interactions with parents but had precious little time to get to know them.
Becoming a trained parenting educator has allowed me to combine all of my passions — child advocacy, connecting with parents, the practical application of brain science — but in a more intimate, relaxed, and fun setting.
I find children creative, surprising, and endlessly inventive, and I look forward to joining you in this amazing — and, yes, sometimes challenging! — journey we are lucky to experience as parents.
